I have trained Shotokan karate since I was 7 years old. I received my first degree black belt (Shodan) in my 2nd year of undergrad (2010) and my second degree black belt (Nidan) in my 5th year of undergrad (2013).

I have competed at the local, provincial, regional, and national levels, receiving countless medals for kata, kumite, team kata, team kumite, and enbu. I have also officiated at local and regional tournaments.

Officiating

My students called me Sensei Ashley. I really enjoyed teaching karate. I work hard to engage students of all ages and to give them a good workout. I had a lot of fun getting students ready for competitions and belt gradings. I hope to open my own Dojo one day.
